Passengers have the right to request compensation in case of train delays caused by the railway during travel from the departure point to the destination.

A delay is considered when the train arrives at the final destination 60 minutes or more later due to railway reasons.

Compensation amounts for delays:
  1. 25% of the ticket fare, if the train is delayed between 60 and 119 minutes.
  2. 50% of the ticket fare, if the train is delayed by 120 minutes or more.
Compensation for delays is paid within one month from the date of filing/submitting the request.

Passengers are not entitled to compensation if they were informed of the expected delay at the time of ticket purchase or if the delay is less than 60 minutes.

Compensation is issued only if the passenger has fully used the railway service and the ticket fare has not been refunded on other grounds.

In case of train cancellation, the full ticket fare is refunded to the passenger.

In the event of force majeure circumstances, compensation for delays is not provided unless JSC "Georgian Railway" decides otherwise.

To receive compensation, the passenger must contact Georgian Railway within 7 days of the relevant circumstances, through the hotline (1331), email callcenter@railway.ge, and/or railway ticket offices, in accordance with the established rules.
